What better way to fully experience outdoor adventure in Shawinigan, two minutes from downtown?
Parc de l'île Melville
The Parc de l'Île Melville measures close to 160 hectares, almost three quarters of which are forested.
Nature lovers will love exploring the mature forests, the two islands – Melville and Banane – and the 70-metre-high mountain. It's a beautiful park that is located right in the heart of Shawinigan. It is flanked by the majestic Saint-Maurice River, an important tourist attraction in its own right. Every spring, the hydroelectric dam is opened, releasing the impressive historic falls.
Guests can stay in the campground or at the inn and enjoy many outdoor activities such as downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter, or visiting TreeGo, renting boats, and hiking in the forests in summer. There is also year-round entertainment.
Come to Parc de l'Île Melville and enjoy the beauty and serenity of nature and wildlife, in the heart of an urban environment.
