Festival de bateau dragon de Shawinigan Festivals and events


Due to the coronavirus, and to ensure everyone's safety, the 2020 edition of the Festival du bateau dragon is canceled.

2020 marks the 15th edition of the Festival du bateau dragon de Shawinigan (competition, community and amateur categories)

Provincial-level competition for dragon boat rowers in the mixed, women and open categories. Participants come from the regions of the National Capital, Eastern Townships, Centre-du-Québec, Mauricie, Lanaudière, Montréal and South-West.

The races are held over distances of 100 m, 200 m and 500 m on the certified course composed of 10 lanes and located in the arm of the St-Maurice river along the Avenue Capitaine-Veilleux.

Statistics: 1,500 participants, 75 teams, 2,000 spectators.

Note: Area closed to traffic, from the intersection of Avenue Capitaine-Veilleux and Chemin de la Berge to the intersection of Avenue Capitaine-Veilleux and Avenue Ozias-Leduc, Sector Shawinigan-Sud.

Admission is free, everyone is welcome!
