Bistro Le P’tit Canot

I want to know more!

  • On the road leading to La Mauricie National Park, this little bistro, housed in a century-old house, is a pleasant surprise. A casual ambiance, good food, very welcoming staff including the friendly owner Michel, who is passionate about hunting, fishing and trapping, and who will be happy to share his many stories and good « observation spots » of the Quebec wildlife with you.

  • Snack bar style, the place offers a varied menu, ranging from pizzas to burgers and the popular duck poutine. Special dishes are also offered on occasion such as trout, langoustines, yellow perch and mussels. The prices are affordable, the decor is warm (with its artifacts), and the staff is cheerful. What more is there to ask for?

  • Psst… if you’re lucky, you might come across comedian Rémi-Pierre Paquin, who owns a chalet in the “Coeur villageois de Saint-Jean-des-Piles” and who adores this bistro.
Denis'S FAVORITE

I treat myself to the shredded duck poutine paired with a good Mac Tavish from Le Trou du Diable Microbrewery.
