The last week of July is the best week of the year for me. Because it’s mostly sunny and really hot, but especially because on the promenade du Saint-Maurice, you can feel the excitement, the thrill and the vibe and energy of the Tribal Fest. This event I love so much for its personality, the sports adrenaline, its beers and its location (by the river and downtown Shawinigan).
For everything! The vibe, the always surprising and delicious food with flavors I couldn’t even begin to imagine, the unique wines and Ysa, the owner, one of my favorite people.
Having a ski center at 15 minutes from downtown, which allows you to leave the office and ride your snowboard for a few hours at the end of the day, is a must. In addition, the warm atmosphere of the outdoor fireplace at the foot of the slopes feels good.
Once the summer is well on its way (Otherwise the sensitive to cold person that I am finds the water to cold – this is also why I chose a higher spot than most people). I would go there everyday if I could. I prefer them on weekdays (excluding construction holidays) when there are not too many people. I like to find a spot with sun and shade large enough to settle in for the afternoon with anything to eat and a beer from one of our microbreweries – Moment of pure happiness disconnected from reality.
Comfort food for me translates into the chicken sandwich and cubed potatoes from Santé Taouk… You’ll never be disappointed, even if you have to finish the meal with a gum! 😊
To be able to run in the morning on the promenade du Saint-Maurice with a view, and to dip your feet in the water on the edge of the dock on summer afternoons because the office is just across the street is a priceless working condition.
