In winter, our ideal family getaway includes nice restaurants and outdoor activities! Snow tubing, animals’ discovery, gourmet breaks… Everything is allowed! Ready? Let’s go for the adventure!
Friday night, I suggest you have dinner at Resto-Bar 360 located in Vallée du Parc ski station. The fireplace in the middle is perfect for warming up between 2 descents! Personally, I love their onion soup.
Saturday morning, we start the day well with a nice big family brunch at Tutti Frutti Shawinigan. There’s something for everyone: sweet, savory, healthy… I recommend their eggs Benedict and the fruity choices!
Then, head to the Station plein air Val-Mauricie (managed by the Parc de l’Ile Melville) to go snow tubing. They’re just big enough to appeal to even adults! It is always a success, year after year…
What’s better than getting together as a family around a board game while it’s snowing outside? Les Dés Truqués offers a phenomenal selection of board games for all ages. I love playing on the spot, ordering some French fries!
For dinner, I recommend booking a table at the Trou du Diable pub and restaurant, located downtown. This emblem of the city offers food and beer pairings, and the slate is always surprising!
On Sunday, stock up on pastries at the Grille-Pain du coin bakery, then head to the Ranch Dupont! Open every weekend from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can discover many animals: camels, wildebeest, deer, horses… With the snow, it’s really magical!
