Elisapie’s unconditional attachment to her territory and her language, Inuktitut, is at the heart of her creative journey. Born in Salluit, a village in Nunavik only accessible by plane, the Inuk singer-songwriter and activist is today an essential figure on the Canadian cultural scene. Always surrounded by the best musicians from the Montreal indie and folk scenes, Elisapie makes Inuit culture resonate with finesse by combining modernity and tradition. In September 2023, she will unveil Inuktitut, an album on which she sensitively performs rock and pop classics from the 60s to 90s, translated into her native language.
