- Discover one of our most sacred—or should we say sweetest?—icons with a visit to this warm and authentic sugar shack. Traditional sugar shack meals are not served here. Instead, a variety of packages introduce you to the different stages of maple syrup production and the secrets behind this sweet nectar we love so much!
- One package includes a guided tour, offered Monday through Saturday, for a fully immersive and personalized experience. You will also enjoy a tasting of six maple products, all for only $5 per person. Admission is free for children aged five and under.
- Prefer exploring at your own pace? There is an option designed just for you. An educational forest trail featuring interpretive panels lets you discover the world of maple syrup production whenever it suits you. No reservation is required, and admission is free. At the end of the trail, ask for the 3D virtual reality glasses. You will feel as though you are right there beside the owners during the maple sap harvest.
- Be sure to set aside some spending money, because you will definitely want to take home everything in the boutique! Homemade maple butter cookies, maple butter, maple syrup, maple sugar, maple water… Is repeating the word “maple” this many times making your mouth water? Yes? That was the goal! Choose wisely so your supply lasts until your next visit.
- Have you ever tried maple wine? The St-Mathieu-du-Parc Sugar Shack is one of the few sugar shacks to produce its own, with several varieties sure to delight your palate. A selection of maple cocktails is also available to enjoy on-site—always in moderation, of course. Take a look at the different packages available, some of which include wine tastings.
- A charming food truck in the gourmet area serves maple ice cream and cookies. You can even treat yourself to a platter of Québec cheeses. What could be better alongside the wines you can enjoy on the covered patio?
- Did you notice the small “Business Committed to Sustainability” logo above? It means that the St-Mathieu-du-Parc Sugar Shack is taking concrete action to adopt more sustainable practices.
Psst! The sugar shack is open year-round, not only during maple season. Gourmet events are also held regularly, so follow its Facebook page to stay up to date.
