Having grown up on the countryside surrounded by animals, I love to observe them at this ranch. Addax, yacks, lemurs, wildebeest…there is something for everyone! The occupant of every paddock is well identified with a thorough description so we can learn more about it. It’s informative, relaxing and fun!
Returning from an outdoor outing, I love to stop in the rustic decor of this coffee shop for a nice hot chocolate or an Amaretto warm milk.
A little-known place in the park, this lake radiates tranquility. Its numerous junctions are surprising by their diversity: sometimes you paddle through tall grass and beaver lodges, sometimes you cross a narrow, almost secret, passage that leads to a large water plan. With a little luck, you’ll even see a moose.
There are many routes possible for winter hiking. The Canyon trail and the Lac trail are worth the detour for their calmness and beauty. With children, we slide, we skate, and we get warm near the outdoor firepit or in the yurt with a good hot chocolate.
Feeling like a mother daughter’s day? My mother and I took advantage of the summer to discover Shawi: visit of an active hydroelectric power station built in 1910, discovery of the old power stations, visit of Jean-Chrétien’s Museum and a nice picnic by the river. We went back the following year to complete our visit.
