- When the snow arrives, the park turns into a huge paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. The landscapes are breathtaking! You’ll be offered: frozen lakes, dense forest, snow-dusted mountains and impressive viewpoints. The Park is also known for its waterfalls in the Wapizagonke sector, which turn into spectacular ice falls in the winter season (restricted acces)!
- Cross-country skiing enthusiast? The Park is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places to practice this sliding sport with its 80km of trails. Whether it’s cross-country skiing in classic style or in freestyle, slide gently into the heart of this magnificent forest where you can warm up, approximately every 5 kilometers, in heated rest stops.
- Snowshoe trails are also very popular, with 8 marked trails stretching over 54 km! If you don’t have snowshoes, several trails are accessible with crampons or simply with good boots when conditions are good.
- Sleeping at the National Park in winter? Yes! It’s possible! Thanks to the 13 oTENTik tents at the Rivière-à-la-Pêche campground, which can accommodate 4 to 5 people. You can also stay at the Domaine Wabenaki Andrew, in dormitory-style lodging, near the Saint-Gérard-des-Laurentides’ entrance. Two rental cabins are also available, just steps from the Saint-Jean-des-Piles entrance. They are fully equipped (even with Wi-Fi included) and can host up to 10 people. For true adventurers who have their own winter camping gear or a camper van set up for winter, the Rivière-à-la-Pêche sector is open during the winter season and offers an outhouse and a kitchen shelter equipped with a wood stove.
