You, the nature lover who likes to play outside with friends, and has chosen to visit Shawinigan, I tell you: GOOD PICK! Allow me to be your guide and make some suggestions to make your stay memorable.

MY PERSONAL FAVORITES

For an outdoor stay with friends this fall

Several times a year, I communicate with my friends and we organize a weekend together. Fall is a perfect time to enjoy the outdoors and all the good things Shawi has to offer. Are you ready? Let me guide you!

AND THE DREAM STAY STARTS HERE…

D1

Saint-Antoine Restaurant

In the Sainte-Flore sector

Friday, head to the St-Antoine restaurant in the Sainte-Flore sector. A must! I love their pan-fried filet mignon in cognac and flambéed directly at the table, with their famous pepper sauce. A true delight! Whatever your preferences are, you will be spoiled because they serve a little bit of everything. If red meat is not your forte, the mussels are also excellent!

Parc de la rivière Grand-Mère

Walk and pictures

Saturday, we start with a superb walk in the Parc de la rivière Grand-Mère. It is one of the most beautiful parks in the city of Shawinigan. You can cycle the loop, run for a good workout or simply take the time to look around and walk it at the pace of happiness! Take the opportunity to take pictures, the nature is magnificent there! Psst! To stay warm, don’t forget your Ecogriffe winter hat – I love this local brand!

Golf

One last time before the season is over!

That being said, what about going golfing? The little white ball lover in me would tell you that fall is the best time of the year to play (when there aren’t too many leaves on the ground). We have many golf courses in Shawi, but my 2 favorites of the season are the golf of Sainte-Flore and the golf of Grand-Mère. WOW!

Aux Goglus

Fine gastronomy

Want a fancy dinner? I advise you to book at one of the best tables in Shawi… L’Auberge Aux Goglus! In addition to a quite exceptional menu (I’m not even exaggerating… 😉), you can bring our own wine. A weekend with friends, necessarily means good food – and you’ll definitely treat yourselves with this dinner!

Les Biscuits qui dansent

La Dolce Vita

On Sunday, head to the new bakery ‘Les Biscuits qui dansent’ in the Grand-Mère sector. Here are the 4 favorites in my family: the almond croissant for Roxanne, the bacon and cheese bread for Zack, the chocolate-hazelnut brioche for Jack and the butter croissant for me! In addition, they make their own elderberry jelly and syrup as well as homemade meringues. A delight!

Bel-Air Aviation

A unique expérience

Now, what could be better than seeing the beautiful shades of orange from Mother Nature… from the air? Spoil yourself by booking a seaplane flight with Bel-Air Aviation. Danielle and her whole team will be able to offer you an experience that you will remember for a long time. This is what I gave my beautiful Roxanne for her 19th birthday, and I tell you… Love at first sight!
